The Alberts Parking Zone (Zone G) covers not only The Alberts but also several streets to the east, including Kings Road, Denbigh Gardens, Marchmont Road and Spring Grove Road. Full details and maps of all Richmond Parking Zones are provided on the Council Website.
Residents Permits can be obtained from the NCP Parking Shop, Holly Road House, 96 Holly Road, Twickenham, TW1 4HF (Tel: 020 8744 2131). Evidence of residence and car ownership has to be supplied.
Normal traffic regulations should be observed and particular attention is drawn to the white prohibition markings at the entrance to York Road.
Parking is restricted between 10.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Visitors can park anywhere in restricted spaces with Residents Visitors Permits displayed. These are obtainable from the NCP Parking Shop in Twickenham, evidence of residence being required. See their Council Website page. They cover the periods from 8.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 12.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., so two are required for a full day's parking. Parking Vouchers can be bought from many newsagents etc., but can only be used in designated spaces, as indicated on pavement signs and in the Council website map.
The Association has negotiated conditions of parking with the Council for many years, most recently obtaining a reduction in the controlled hours from their previous 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. We have also ensured the maximum availability of paving parking within the marked white line bays. Talks have been ongoing about the permissibility of pavement parking on single yellow lines outside controlled hours, following incidents in 2005. Current correspondence is posted on this site and rests with David Shaw's letter to the Council of 30 August 2005, to which no response was received.
Your attention is especially drawn to the quote "Footway Parking" paragraph in ACA News of October 2005. Also the "Parking in the Alberts" paragraph in the November 2006 Liberal Democrats "Comments" indicating that the 2005 incidents "had been a mistake" and that the 1994 arrangements, negotiated by then councillors, continues. Both paragraphs are posted on this website.
